South Bend, IN, November 10, 2011 — Memorial Home Care today announced that it has been named to the 2011 HomeCare Elite™, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. Now in its sixth year, the HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of agencies based on an analysis of more than 10,000 agencies nationwide. Winners are ranked based upon performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement, and financial performance. Memorial Home Care has achieved this recognition three of the six years, including the last two times, and is honored to again be the only agency in their primary service area to appear on the list.

Memorial Hospital of South Bend has begun a new initiative by offering a pharmacy residency program that will help meet national demand for highly trained pharmacists. The new residency program began in July, and typically takes just over a year to complete. Residents will be certified by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

Michael J. O’Neil has been named Chief Administrative Officer for Beacon Health System. He has served as Chief Operating Officer of Memorial Health System since 2005, and has been with the organization since 1993. His areas of responsibility have included Memorial Home Care, Memorial Medical Group, and a variety of medical joint ventures. He is a nationally recognized speaker and also serves on the board of the Convenient Care Association.

Memorial HealthWorks! Kids’ Museum is hosting two sessions of its “Adventures in Babysitting” child care training classes for 11-15 year old boys and girls. The sessions run between June 13-17 and August 8-12. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a Safe Sitter certificate.
