A team of board certified pediatricians is available 24 hours a day to consult and/or assume care for any child in need of in-patient hospitalization. The hospitalist team also works in conjunction with Pediatric Intensivists to provide procedural sedation for procedures that may generate pain or anxiety for the hospitalized child.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The PICU is managed exclusively by board certified Pediatric Intensivists, specializing in the care of critically ill or injured infants and children. In addition to caring for children within the PICU, Memorial intensivists direct the Pediatric Emergency Transport Services Team (PETS), provide procedural sedation services in conjunction with Pediatric Hospitalists, and work closely with area physicians and surgeons to ensure the on-going quality of care for hospitalized children.

Memorial’s Pediatric Pulmonary Clinic offers comprehensive care and diagnostic services for children and adolescents with a wide range of chronic lung diseases, including tuberculosis, sarcoidosis and asthma.
